Mike Morgan is Oklahoma’s News 4’s Chief Meteorologist. He joined the KFOR team in January of 1993.
A fourth generation Oklahoman, Mike grew up in the Tulsa area. His interest in meteorology was apparent at an early age. As a 13-year-old, Mike interned with the National Weather Service. He stepped into the working world at the age of 19, doing the weather at a Tulsa television station.
Mike is a member of the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association. Numerous regional and national awards chronicle his on-air coverage of severe weather. Former Oklahoma Governor Frank Keating presented the Humanitarian Award to Mike for going above and beyond the call of duty during the May 3 tornadoes. He has received the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters Award for Best 10 p.m. weathercast in the state 11 times. Mike has also won a Radio Television News Directors’ Association Award, has won five Emmy’s and been nominated over 10 times.
